The Way

Class members share responsibility for leading this class's lively discussions, where frankness, openness and differences of opinion are respected and encouraged. The Way takes particular interest in social justice issues and has been affiliated since 2014 with the Reconciling Ministries Network, an organization dedicated to the inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the United Methodist Church.

The Journey class is a group of active adults who share the Christian life journey. This group is a mix of couples and singles, who seek to learn about God's word, God's call, and service opportunities. Classes are a mix of Biblical, topical, and human-interest subjects lead by two co-teachers. The class sponsors the church-wide Craft Fair each spring, participates in many mission projects, leadership roles, supports church projects, several members participate in the choir and the class members enjoy fellowship activities with one another.

We are a caring and supportive group of couples and singles. Lessons are Bible based, and leadership is shared. Our discussions also reflect on current events in the light of the Biblical Word. We support Martin UMC and the community through the Backpack Ministry, annual craft fair, Lord's Acre, Thanksgiving Baskets, and Christmas Angels. As true Methodists, we sometimes have brunch. All are welcome.

Location: Room B1

Branches is a diverse group of Christians (and Christians in training!) struggling to find ways to serve God in our church, community and world. We are single, married, widowed, young and not so young, learning to be God's light in the world. We study current events and their biblical interpretations and take turns leading our group through an interesting online curriculum. We are dedicated to serving and look for places to lead or help at Martin and beyond!

Bridging the Gap

Location: Room C16

Bridging the Gap

We are a discussion-based class that includes and welcomes a wide range of age groups. We value diverse perspectives and don’t shy away from talking about hard topics. We have a rotational leadership style where anyone who is interested in a certain topic can arrange a discussion around it. We understand that many have busy lives and so we minimize the amount of “homework” that is required outside of Sunday mornings.

Please be aware that venues and class schedules change in the summer…always check our church calendar
