Dear Church Family and Staff, I, Rossie Carroll, will be resigning from my position here at Martin on Sunday, September 13. I have been Director of Student Ministries for the youth in grades 6 through 12 for 3 years. Before this position, I had the honor of working five summers with Project Transformation as an intern, site coordinator, and house pastor. Eventually, I had the honor of being on Pastor Daniel Hawkins’ podcast, Pods Strangely Warm. From there, God has blessed me with a group of amazing students. More than 3 years ago, the youth and I started calling ourselves the Generations of Obedient Disciples (G.O.O.D. Crew). Every year brought events, fundraisers, and other opportunities to help mold them into college- and career-ready leaders. We shared precious memories at Glen Lake and on mission trips. This past summer was our best year. We sent off 22 students who were ready to learn, with 5 strong adults who impacted not only the students but also myself. I was so honored to bring students and adults from our Tongan community. It started a conversation that taught us all how to lead with intention. There is no doubt our church highlighted our beloved Afu Uasi in ways he would be proud. My goals are to continue Graduate school studying Professional Counseling, with the hope of working in Marriage and Family counseling. William Martin United Methodist Church will always have a special place in my heart. The students are no doubt my inspiration to become a stronger disciple for God’s Kingdom. Please keep me in your prayers as I continue my journey. 1 Corinthians 12:6 – God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. Blessings, Rossie Carroll |
